Lisa Welch: Founder of ‘The Unexpected Buddha’, Lisa is a formal meditation and embodiment educator, a self-insight facilitator, and yoga teacher. Over the last 40 years, she has worked with people of all ages in various physical, emotional, and psychological capacities, within an array of modalities. Completing numerous studies over the years—from a Bachelor’s in Sport Science to Psychosomatic Therapy, Emotional Anatomy, and Emotional Release Bodywork—Lisa has spent a lifetime of self-inquiry and nurtured an insatiable thirst for personal enlightenment that has informed her in more ways than any formal education could.
In 2011, Lisa opened a yoga and meditation studio and later opened an Anxiety Clinic adjacent to the studio to meet the growing need for support in this area. Understanding that the pattern of embodied stress and somatic disconnect within clients needed to be addressed, Lisa started there—for only then can deeper self-connection and self-insight be established… without which, unconditional calm and stability remain elusive.
After a decade of working with students and clients in person, Lisa sold her studio and now devotes her time to helping heal the wounds that keep us disconnected from ourselves, each other, and all things. The Unexpected Buddha is a progressive system designed to answer this call.
