Their First Words: Flashcards

Calm flashcards for babies and toddlers: first words and everyday phrases in Spanish, Korean, French and five more languages.

We made Their First Words for our daughters. Watching them learn and say their first words has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. We wanted to make a calm, beautiful app where they could explore the languages around them and grow from first words into everyday phrases.

We poured our love and energy into every word, phrase, picture, and sound. We’re excited to share it with your family, and we hope it brings your children the same small, magical moments it has brought ours.

FLASHCARDS FOR KIDS

• 1,000+ watercolor-style word cards in 16 categories — Animals, Food & Drink, Body, Home, Clothes, Toys, Vehicles, Nature & Weather, Places, People, Actions, Colors, Numbers, Shapes, Feelings, and Everyday Words
• 500+ everyday phrases across 9 themes — I Want & I Need, No, Stop & All Done, Look at This!, What’s Happening, Where Things Go, Me & My People, Let’s Play Together, How I Feel, and Talk With Me
• Eight languages on every word and phrase — English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Korean, and Russian — each with female and male native voices. Switch language or voice without leaving the card. Menus and navigation are in English.
• Three word stages for you to choose from — First Words (0–24 months), Growing Words (2–3 years), and Word Builder (3–5 years). Ages are content guides, not milestones.
• Today’s Words and Today’s Phrases — a small set to practice together each day
• Progress at your child’s pace — you mark words with Mark Learned and phrases with Said It, and see your practice days by week or month
• Up to 4 children, each with their own word stage, progress, and favorites
• A character to make their own — choose from 8 and add playful accessories
• Pictures and audio work offline — see it, hear it, and say it together on planes, road trips, and in waiting rooms
• Parent-led practice, with Auto Play when you want it. During Auto Play, Lock ignores stray taps until you press and hold to unlock
• A parental gate keeps purchases, account settings, and external links in the grown-up area
