Today's Record High

Pick a city and see the record high, record low, and normal temperature for today, or any date you choose. Data comes straight from NOAA's ThreadEx dataset through RCC ACIS, the same quality-controlled climate records meteorologists use.

What you get for every station:

Record high and record low for the selected date, with the year they happened
Normal high and normal low for that date, based on the 1991-2020 average
Current temperature compared to the normal high, so you know right away if today is running hot or cold
A year so far summary showing whether this year has been warmer, cooler, or about normal compared to history
Heat wave tracking, including current streaks, longest heat waves on record, and dangerous overnight lows
Warm summer night counts and how this summer compares to past decades
Rain and snow totals for the year, month, and summer, compared to normal
On this day in history, a year by year table of highs, lows, precipitation, and snowfall
All time record highs, lows, rainfall, and snowfall for the station
Search by city or state, or tap Stations Near Me to find the closest station to your location. Records go back as far as the station's data allows, some more than a century.

Built for people who want to know if today is actually unusual, not just what the forecast says. If the news says it's a record hot day, this app tells you the actual number and how it compares to history.
