TONO: Pocket Synth

TONO is a pocket synthesizer for making songs from start to finish on your phone. No screens full of menus: colored knobs, a keyboard and a four-track tape, just like real hardware.

SIX SOUND ENGINES
• Dimension: two oscillators and a filter, the classic analog sound.
• FM: bells, electric pianos and basses with metallic shine.
• Cluster: a wall of detuned saws.
• String: plucked strings that sound like guitar, harp or koto.
• Drums: twelve synthesized sounds, with tuning and punch.
• Sampler: record anything with the microphone and play it on the keys.

SEQUENCERS THAT MAKE YOU PLAY
• Drums: four 16-step patterns with swing.
• Tombola: a spinning hexagon that plays when the balls bounce.
• Sketch: draw your melody with a finger, always in key.
• Endless: enter notes one by one and let them loop.
• Arpeggiator with HOLD, plus scales so you never hit a wrong note.

FOUR-TRACK TAPE
• Overdub, loop and record with a metronome.
• Knob moves are recorded with the track.
• Tilt your phone to shape the sound.
• Mixer with level, pan and meters.

YOUR SONG, YOUR WAY
• Takes: keep versions of a song and compare them without fear of breaking anything.
• Four example songs to listen to and take apart.
• Six device finishes and accent colors.
