Tool Finder

Project Tool Finder helps you plan any DIY project with confidence. Simply describe what you want to build, and our AI instantly generates a complete list of tools you'll need and estimates all the materials — with accurate quantities based on your project dimensions.

HOW IT WORKS

Tell us your project (e.g., "Build a 12x16 deck" or "Install a fence around my backyard"). Our AI analyzes your description and creates:

A curated list of every tool you'll need, with explanations of why each one matters
A detailed materials estimate with quantities, including 10% extra for waste
Notes on local building codes, permit requirements, and bylaws specific to your city and province/state
COMPARE PRICES & SAVE
Every tool and material links to multiple stores so you can compare prices. We support Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, RONA, and eBay — with region-specific links for both US and Canadian shoppers.

FIND LOCAL RESOURCES
Discover nearby tool rental companies and hardware stores with one tap. Google Maps integration shows you phone numbers, hours, and directions for the closest locations.

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Check off tools you already own and materials you've purchased. Your progress bar updates across all projects, and tools you mark as owned are automatically recognized in future projects.
