A metronome tells you what tempo to copy. Tornu tells you what yours is, to the millisecond, from the motion of your own wrist. No ball required, no net required, no camera required. Swing in the garage in January and it works exactly the same.

CONSISTENCY IS THE PRODUCT

Anyone can hit one good swing. Tornu is built around the second one, and the fifth. The ± beside every number is the whole point: it says whether that number is really yours or whether you got lucky once. Set the tolerance to Relaxed while you find a baseline, then tighten it as you improve.

OPTIONAL CAMERA, FOR SHARPER TIMING

Prop your iPhone at the mat and Tornu uses the camera to re-time your downswing more precisely, then plays the video back frame-locked to the arc. You watch the club reach the ball at the exact moment the arc completes. The camera refines one number; everything else always comes from the watch.

WHAT TORNU WILL NOT TELL YOU

No clubhead speed. No ball speed. No club path. No face angle.

The watch sits above the wrist joint and never sees the clubface, so those numbers cannot be measured from there — only estimated. Other wrist apps print them anyway. We would rather show you four numbers you can trust than eight you can't.
