Trace turns that into a structured entry: meals, ingredients, symptoms, timing. Then it counts how often a food shows up on days you felt bad, and how often on days you didn't.
WHY A DIARY USUALLY FAILS
Food reactions are slow. Something you ate at noon can show up at midnight, or the next morning. By then you don't remember lunch. Paper diaries and calorie apps ask you to type meals into fields; nobody keeps that up for the weeks it takes for a pattern to appear.
Trace asks for ten seconds of speech and does the bookkeeping itself.
WHAT YOU GET
• Speak or type. Voice is recognised on your device by iOS, and the audio never leaves your phone.
• Your words, sorted. Meals become dishes and ingredients; "stomach's been off" becomes a symptom with intensity and time.
• A map of your foods. Each ingredient sits in one of four places: strong pattern, under suspicion, under watch, looks safe.
• Slow on purpose. Nothing moves to "strong pattern" from one bad day. Trace compares days with a food against days without it, across weeks.
• A report for your doctor. Dates and counts as a PDF, so an appointment starts from evidence instead of memory.
• Your diary, exportable. CSV any time, free.
WHERE TRACE STOPS
Trace is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything. It counts what you tell it and shows the arithmetic. What that means for your health is a conversation for you and your doctor.
PRIVACY
Speech is recognised on your device; only the resulting text is sent for analysis. Trace does not read Apple Health, does not track your location, and never sells your data. Delete your account in the app and your entries go with it.
FREE AND PREMIUM
The diary is free: log meals and symptoms, keep your history, export CSV.
Premium adds the analysis layer: the full food map with statuses, observations as they appear, and the doctor report.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your App Store settings.
