TRACK YOUR COLORWORK CHARTS
Open your pattern and tap “Track a chart”: Tricodex finds the charts on the page. Tap the one you're knitting, and your current row is highlighted. With each row you count, the highlight moves up one row: rows you've knit are lightly shaded, rows to come more heavily, even on charts with stepped edges.
Each row is spelled out in knitting order, in runs of matching stitches—“3×: 2 blank, 1 X”—with a picture of each symbol. In the round or flat.
More than one chart? Track them one after another, or in the same row: the sole and instep of a sock move forward together. Chart printed sideways? Rotate the page. Frame slightly off? Drag a corner and it snaps to the chart's lines, or place the frame yourself. To pick up at another row, just tap it.
COUNT WITHOUT LOSING YOUR PLACE
A big +1 button you can't miss, a ring that fills up as you work toward your next decrease, and an automatic reset at the end of each repeat. Several counters per project—body, sleeves, neckband—and a project total that keeps counting through every repeat. Set a reminder for one row or a whole range: “decrease from row 20 to row 40.” And see the time of your last two rows, down to the second.
KEEP YOUR PATTERN IN VIEW
Your knitting pattern opens right on the counter screen, as a PDF or an image: drag it around, pinch to zoom. Your reminders stay visible while you read. No more leaving the counter to check a line.
SWATCHING THAT PAYS OFF
Log the pattern's gauge and the gauge you actually get: the gauge calculator works out the difference and converts the pattern's numbers to your gauge. Get the stitches to cast on and the rows to knit, or work back from a width. Enter the cast-on counts for two sizes and it even tells you which one to knit for the width you want—often not the size you usually wear. Tricodex works in metric: gauge over 10 cm, widths in centimeters.
KNOW WHAT'S REALLY LEFT IN YOUR STASH
Your yarn stash is counted in grams, the only unit that still works once a skein is started, and whatever your unfinished projects have reserved is subtracted from what's available. Show it in grams, meters, or skeins. Dye lots are tracked, with a warning when you have the same yarn in more than one lot.
ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOUR NEEDLES ARE
Straights, circulars, short circulars, DPNs, or interchangeables: once a needle is on a project, it isn't offered anywhere else, and it comes back to you when you finish. For each size the pattern calls for, see whether it's in use, available, on another project, lent out, or not in your collection.
INCREASE OR DECREASE EVENLY, NO MATH
Increases and decreases spaced evenly across a row, flat or in the round, with a heads-up when a row can't be worked as written.
MEASUREMENTS FOR EVERYONE YOU KNIT FOR
A page of measurements for each person, linked to the project so they're right there when it's time to adjust the fit.
SEE HOW FAR YOU'VE COME
Rows counted, time spent, knitting days, current streak. Every badge is celebrated the moment you earn it. When you finish a project, weigh the yarn you actually used and share a card of your finished knit.
WORKS OFFLINE, BACKS UP IF YOU SIGN IN
Tricodex works fully offline, chart tracking included: you can count rows on a plane. An account is optional, but it backs up everything—projects, counters, yarn, needles, measurements, and photos. On a new phone, it all comes back.
