Uffizi Audio Guide: Trovart

50 works worth stopping for, fully offline.
A tappable floor plan, plus a camera that knows which painting you're looking at.
Five commentaries are free — four works and the first period introduction. The rest costs less than a gelato.

The Uffizi has more than 100 rooms. Most first-time visitors run out of attention somewhere in the first few and walk the rest.

Trovart picks 50 works worth stopping for, each with its own audio commentary, plus 6 short introductions to the periods that connect them — a route you can actually finish. About 100 minutes of audio in all; the rest of the time is yours to just look.

In the order you walk them
Works follow the real route through the building, from the west end of the second floor down to the first. You can also search by title, artist, or room number.

A floor plan you can tap
Both floors, room by room — tap one to see what's in it. Open the map from a work and the room it hangs in is marked.

Can't tell which painting you're looking at? Photograph it.
Point your camera at the work and go straight to its commentary. The matching runs on your iPhone; the photo is never uploaded or stored.

The galleries have almost no signal, so this works offline
Download your language's audio pack in advance — on hotel Wi-Fi is ideal. Once you're inside, no connection is needed.

Your pace, not a tour group's
Adjustable speed, the full transcript to read along with, and pause whenever you want to keep looking. Background playback, with lock-screen and headphone controls.

Four languages
English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Written and recorded separately for each. Switch at any time.

How the commentary is written
Not a Wikipedia read-aloud. Each piece starts with what is actually in front of you — composition, detail, how people looked at pictures at the time — and only then fills in the background. Dates, attributions, and dimensions come from Wikidata and the museum's own material. Where scholars disagree, the script says so instead of picking a side. Legends are labelled as legends.

Try it first
5 pieces are free, including Cimabue's Santa Trinita Maestà, Giotto's Ognissanti Madonna, and the first period introduction. Unlock the rest only if it's useful to you. One purchase, not a subscription.

You don't come to Florence often. Two hours is two hours either way — you can walk past the paintings, or you can know what you're looking at.
