THE TWIST

It looks like tic-tac-toe. It plays like chess.

The board isn't a 3x3 grid - it's a 3x3 grid of nine smaller 3x3 grids.
Every move you make sends your opponent to a specific small board on the
big grid. Win three small boards in a row to win the game.

Where you tap dictates where they play. Where they play dictates where
you go. Every move is a decision and a consequence.


WHY IT'S DIFFERENT

Regular tic-tac-toe takes ten seconds to solve. Most kids figure it
out in an afternoon and never play again.

This is the version mathematicians and strategy players have been
quietly obsessed with for years. A good move on the small board can be
a terrible move on the big board, and strong players still disagree
about the best openings - but the rules take 30 seconds to learn.


THREE WAYS TO PLAY

SOLO - Four AI difficulty levels:

- EASY: makes mistakes and doesn't punish yours. Good first opponent.

- MEDIUM: the sweet spot. Beatable, but never careless.

- HARD: deep search with a positional heuristic. It plans several moves
ahead and punishes loose play. Expect to lose your first few games.

- EXPERT: the ceiling. It uses every moment it is given and plans well
past the move in front of it. Beating it means you have learned the
game.

PASS-AND-PLAY - Two players, one device. Take turns on the same iPhone.
Great for trains, waiting rooms, and arguing with your roommate.

TUTORIAL - Built-in interactive tutorial that teaches the rules by
playing them, not by explaining them. Three short steps, three real
moves, and you've got it.
