No one wants advice when they’re this mad.
Unmad won’t tell you to calm down or hand you a gratitude journal. It gets you out of the rage zone in 30 to 90 seconds, then tells you to close it and go live your life.
■ New: Smash Room
Write down what’s getting to you and it turns into a slab. Tap to hit, hold and let go for a heavy one. Cracks spread from right where your finger lands, and the last hit blows the whole sentence apart. No refunds.
Then pull down for a whole living room: TV, coffee table, plates, a basket of slippers and eggs. 13 things to wreck. Shove the TV, flip the table, sweep the shelf. Zero cleanup.
■ New: a train window
Don’t want to hear from anyone? That’s a train window now. No questions, no pep talk. Fields, lakes and little houses roll by, morning to night, spring to winter.
■ Three ways in, depending on how you’re mad
Let it out: Slice the Noise · Smash Room · Rage Bubbles · Bin That Thought · Rip the Labels
Get me out of my head: Brain, Change the Channel · Look Around · Tidy Something · Tap for Merit · Squish It
Just comfort me: Dance It Off · Your Majesty · Not Worth It · Whatever · Unhinged Mode · I don’t want to hear from anyone
Dance It Off has six songs made just for Unmad. Pick one.
Rate how mad you are and Unmad takes it from there. Rate again when you’re done and it adjusts to where you actually landed. Want more time? Turn on No time limit in Settings.
■ Your words, your call
In Slice the Noise and Rip the Labels, write what actually got to you, up to five lines at a time. Then slice it, or rip it off the blob.
■ Rip the Labels
The blob is covered front to back in what they called you: too sensitive, so dramatic, it’s not that deep. Spin it, grab a corner and rip. Stickers peel right off, clear tape makes you hunt for the edge, super glue fights back.
■ Bin That Thought
Thoughts pop up and keep swelling. Drag them into the bin. Stuff it full and it burps.
■ Squish It
For when your brain won’t shut up. Five blobs, Jelly, Mochi, Clay, Water and Crispy, each with its own feel. Squash it, stretch it, poke it.
■ Write it down
Say what you want to say, for nobody but you. Meant for someone? Put it on ice for 5, 10 or 30 minutes, then decide if it still needs sending. Unmad has no send button. It only hands your words back to you.
■ Cool-down log
It doesn’t count how often you got angry. It counts how often you pulled yourself back out.
Every day you bounce back, an officer goes on duty, matched to what worked: the Smash officer if you smashed your way down, the Merit officer if Tap for Merit did it. After 6 pm, if nobody got to you, tap No drama today for a sunny stamp. Each month ends with an award.
No streaks. We’re not rewarding you for being angry every day.
■ Officer guide
Eighteen officers, and every one you’ve met lives in Me → Officer guide. Holidays bring their own stamps, and a few hidden ones are tucked into the games.
■ Rage receipts
After a round, keep a receipt: left me on read, dry replies, changed plans on me, brought up old stuff. It goes on that day in your log. Not to throw at them, just so you can see if it’s a one-off or the same thing every time. Each month gets its own receipt you can save as an image.
■ Three quizzes, for when you’re not mad
What’s your anger weather? Six quick moves, no reading.
What’s your fight job? 10 questions of pure nonsense.
What’s your attachment style? 12 questions.
Just for fun, not a psych test.
■ No account, nothing you write gets uploaded
No login, no ads, no tracking. Your log, everything you write and your settings stay on this phone. No uploads, no sync. Your iPhone backup brings them to your next phone. Delete Unmad and it all goes with it.
The only thing Unmad sends is an anonymous count of which features get used. No device ID, nothing you write, no personal info.
■ One note
Unmad isn’t therapy or a medical service and doesn’t diagnose anything. If you need real help, talk to a professional.
