Academic Administration - UPSA Workload Verification is a digital Administration platform developed specifically for the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) to support academic workload verification, approval workflows, institutional governance, and compensation-ready reporting.
Designed around UPSA's academic structure and Administration processes, the platform enables lecturers, Heads of Department, Deans, the Human Resource Directorate, the Finance Directorate, ICTMIS, and university management to collaborate through a secure, transparent, and auditable workflow. It replaces fragmented manual processes with a structured digital system that improves efficiency, accountability, and institutional oversight.
Key Features
• Submit teaching sessions and workload records digitally. • View workload allocations, approval status, and verification progress. • Raise queries and workload disputes through a structured process. • Review, approve, or return workload records for correction. • Monitor departmental teaching loads and approval queues. • Generate pre-verified workload summaries for HR and Finance. • Maintain comprehensive audit trails with timestamps and user attribution. • Protect sensitive information through secure role-based access control.
Built for UPSA
This release has been configured specifically for the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). User roles, organisational structures, approval workflows, and governance processes are aligned with the University's internal academic and administrative arrangements.
Research Foundation
Academic Administration is based on the MSc Information Systems research project titled "Design and Stakeholder Evaluation of a Socio-Technical Digital Governance System for Academic Workload Verification — Evidence from the University of Professional Studies, Accra." The system was developed using stakeholder requirements gathered from academic and administrative staff and evaluated through structured surveys and prototype demonstrations to ensure alignment with institutional workflows.
