VCE Study Biology

Year 12 Biology, end-to-end. Every dot point, every past paper, every kind of practice you'd pay a tutor for — all in one app. Plus an optional bespoke AI tutor (Amy) when you want a real second pair of eyes on your writing.

THE FULL SYLLABUS — INCLUDED WITH THE APP
• Every VCAA VCE Biology dot point covered (Units 3-4) — written as student-friendly notes, not textbook walls of text
• Hundreds of multiple-choice questions sorted by topic, module and difficulty
• Hundreds of short-answer + extended-response practice prompts with model answers
• Original exam-style papers modelled on the structure, format and topic distribution of past VCAA exams — calibrated against publicly available VCAA examiner reports. No VCAA question text is reproduced or paraphrased.
• Full timed mock exams that mirror the actual paper structure
• Spaced-repetition flashcards that resurface what you got wrong at the moment you're about to forget
• Glossary with plain-English explainers + analogies for every key term
• Per-question commentary from past papers and marking notes — what examiners actually rewarded
• Per-year exam tips (e.g. "what worked in the 2024 paper")
• Daily quiz tile that picks the questions you most need to revisit
• Mastery rings, module stats, and a streak that doesn't shame you for a day off
• Dark mode, multiple app icon options, accessibility text scaling

That's what you get for the price of the app. No subscription needed for any of the above.

OPTIONAL: AMY THE AMOEBA — BESPOKE AI TUTOR
The same app, with a smart marking and chat partner layered on top:
• Marks your short-answer AND extended-response writing against the actual VCAA marking guidelines — mark-by-mark, with rubric-language feedback
• Tells you exactly which marks you missed, what would have earned them, and how to phrase it next time
• Explains any concept three different ways until one lands
• Chats one-on-one when you're stuck — patient, no judgment, no waiting for office hours
• Marks entire mock exams in seconds with mark-by-mark commentary on every response
• Two tiers (see pricing) — both fully optional, the app keeps working without them

PROGRESS THAT MEANS SOMETHING
• Mastery rings show which topics you've actually nailed vs winged
• Streak tracking that doesn't punish a rest day
• Adaptive challenge picks tomorrow's practice from your weakest topics
• Stats per module so you know where to focus the next 30 minutes

John Hattie's meta-analyses put formative feedback and self-assessment among the highest-impact study habits, with effect sizes of around d = 0.7-1.3 — well above the d ≈ 0.4 average effect of typical teaching. Amy makes that quality of feedback sustainable for every response.

Made by an experienced senior science teacher with deep curriculum and assessment expertise — so Year 12 students have study tools that actually match what examiners look for.
