Velum Journal

Some thoughts aren't meant to be shared. They're meant to be kept, revisited, and understood.

Velum is a private, local-first journal built for daily reflection. Write freely, knowing every entry stays on your device and never leaves it. No account required. No cloud sync. No one reading over your shoulder.

WRITE WITH INTENTION

Each day, a gentle prompt is there if you need it. Tag your mood, add photos, and let your thoughts settle at your own pace. Velum gets out of the way so you can simply write.

BUILD A HABIT THAT STICKS

A quiet streak count shows you how far you've come. The calendar fills in with every entry you write, turning your consistency into something you can see and feel proud of.

MEMORIES THAT FIND THEIR WAY BACK

On This Day quietly resurfaces entries from the same date in previous years - a paragraph you wrote on a Tuesday two years ago, waiting to be rediscovered. And the Five-Year Page gathers every year you've kept a date into a single page, so one day reads like a story told across time.

FOLLOW THE THREADS OF YOUR LIFE

Link entries into threads and follow a story as it unfolds - a season, a person, a slow change you're becoming - with the arc laid out in reading order.

WRITE IN PEACE

Gentle ambient soundscapes - rain on the window, a quiet room, distant waves - set the mood while you write. They mix softly with your own music and never interrupt it.

SEAL SOMETHING FOR YOUR FUTURE SELF

Write a letter, a hope, or a question - then seal it as a time capsule. Velum holds it safely until the day you choose to open it, however far ahead that may be.

YOUR PRIVACY IS THE WHOLE POINT

Lock the app with your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Everything is stored locally on your device. No subscription required to keep your entries private. What you write belongs only to you - and nothing here is read by AI.

PREMIUM - FOR THOSE WHO WANT MORE

Velum Pro unlocks eight warm, beautifully crafted themes, voice journaling, mood insights, the full Five-Year Page, unlimited threads, every soundscape, home screen widgets, and more photos per entry.
