Verso is an Italian-learning app for English speakers, built around a simple idea: you remember what you enjoy. Instead of streak-shaming you into tapping icons, Verso gives you real Italian to read, listen to, speak and talk about — calibrated to your CEFR level so the language stays comprehensible and the joy stays in.

WHAT'S INSIDE

• Tutor — NEW. Step-by-step lessons with Olo, from A1 to C1. Olo explains one idea, then you practise it out loud: hold the mic and answer, and Olo gently corrects you. Your progress follows a path on a map.

• Describe — Short Reels-style scenes of everyday Italian life, each with one narrated sentence. Tap any word for its meaning, then say it yourself. Built for in-line, in-bed, waiting-at-the-bar moments.

• Read — Short bilingual stories from A1 to C1. Tap any word for its meaning; save it to your review deck with one tap.

• Listen — Italian podcasts with a synced transcript that highlights as you go. Adjust speed from 0.5× to 1.5×; show the translation when you want a hint.

• Chat — Practice in Italian with an AI conversation partner that gently catches your mistakes and suggests fixes, without breaking the flow.

• Review — A spaced-repetition deck that brings back your saved words right before you'd forget them.

Narration and Olo's voice use natural-sounding AI Italian voices.

LEVELS

A1 (Beginner) → A2 → B1 → B2 → C1 (Advanced). A short placement test on first launch puts you at the right level. You can retakeit anytime, and Verso suggests when you're ready for the next level.

WHO IT'S FOR

People who love Italian and want to learn the way they learned their first language: by being surrounded by it — not by drilling flashcards in a vacuum.

VERSO PLUS

Verso is free to start, with daily limits. Verso Plus removes the daily time cap, opens the full library, and gives you many moretutor lessons and chats. Choose weekly, monthly or yearly; the app shows the price in your local currency.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

PRIVACY

Verso stores only what's needed to run the app: your email, learning progress, saved words and chat history. We don't sell yourdata, don't show ads, and don't track you across apps. Chat messages and tutor voice answers are processed by OpenAI (United States, under EU Standard Contractual Clauses) to power the AI features; we don't keep tutor recordings. Audio is generated byElevenLabs from our own text — none of your personal data reaches them.
