Most apps teach one variety of Vietnamese and never say which. Vietgo defaults to Northern (Hanoi) and shows the Southern (Saigon) form wherever it differs: separate IPA for both accents, north–south word pairs, and one setting that switches the pronunciation guides app-wide. The North holds all six tones apart; the South merges two of them, and the charts show both.
