Most translation tools route everything through English. VivaLingua doesn't. All 41 call languages translate directly to each other, which matters if
neither of you speaks English — a Spanish speaker and a Thai speaker can talk without English sitting in the middle adding errors.
Regional voices where they matter: Brazilian and European Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, Canadian French, Belgian Dutch.
ONLY THE HOST PAYS
Whoever starts the call spends the minutes. The other person joins free, every time — whether they have the app or joined from a browser link. If they want to host their own call later, they can, using their own account.

New accounts start with 60 free minutes. After that, buy more when you need them:

AirPods or any other Bluetooth earbuds work. There's no dedicated hardware to buy and nothing for the other person to buy either.

The same app works when you're together, not just when you're apart. Choose Push-to-Talk to hold a button while you speak, or Hands-Free to talk naturally
while VivaLingua picks up each turn. Useful for meeting family, ordering food, or getting through a pharmacy visit abroad.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE INSTALLING
We'd rather you find this out here than after downloading:
• An internet connection is required. No mode translates offline — translation and the spoken translation always run in the cloud.
• Your speech is sent to the services that make translation work: Deepgram (speech to text), Google Cloud Translation (translation), and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech or ElevenLabs (the spoken translation). Video calls are carried by Daily.co. The app asks your permission before any of this happens, and the details are in our privacy policy.
• 41 languages are available for calls. Availability and translated-voice support can vary by device.
