Votemate: AI Ballot Assistant

Know your ballot before you go.

VoteMate is a free, nonpartisan app that shows your actual ballot next to an AI
chat that explains every race, candidate, and measure on it. Enter your address,
see exactly what you'll face at the polls, and ask anything.

Ballots are long. The language is dense. Most voters leave questions blank
because no one ever explained them. VoteMate fixes that in minutes.

YOUR PERSONALIZED BALLOT
▸ Enter your address and see the exact contests and measures you'll vote on —
federal, state, local, and ballot measures. Not generic information. Your races.
▸ Candidate cards show party, incumbent status, and their social links when available.
▸ Ballot measures come with plain-language summaries, topic tags, and the full text.
▸ No address yet? Browse a national snapshot of upcoming contests.

ASK ANYTHING, GET SOURCES
▸ Tap Full profile on any candidate for their background, policy positions,
voting record, who has endorsed them, and their own words from their Ballotpedia
Candidate Connection answers.
▸ Compare candidates side by side on the issues you care about.
▸ Every answer cites its sources. Tap a citation to preview the publisher and
where it leads before you open it.
▸ Choose how deep to go: Quick for a fast answer, Deep to read more sources, or
Auto to let VoteMate decide.
▸ See the research trail behind any answer — the steps VoteMate took to get there.

MARK YOUR PICKS, KEEP YOUR BALLOT
▸ Heart the candidates you're leaning toward, and filter any race down to just
your picks.
▸ Sign in and your ballot saves with a status you can see — draft, saved, or
complete — plus a history of every ballot you've built, on every device.
▸ Your picks are yours alone: private, never shared, and never suggested by us.

NEVER MISS A DEADLINE
▸ Registration deadlines, early voting windows, mail and absentee cutoffs,
same-day registration, and when polls close.
▸ Contact information and websites for your state and county election offices.

EN ESPAÑOL
▸ The entire app — ballot, chat, help, and settings — in English or Spanish.

FREE. ALWAYS.
VoteMate is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The app is free. No ads. We don't sell your
data. And you can use it without creating an account.

BUILT FOR TRUST
▸ Ballot and candidate data from Democracy Works, Ballotpedia, Congress.gov, and
official government records.
▸ Nonpartisan by design: every candidate and party gets the same format, the
same depth, the same tone. VoteMate never tells you who to vote for.
▸ Built on Microsoft's Responsible AI principles, with source-cited answers, PII
filtering, and human review. Full detail at votemateus.org/transparency.
▸ We collect only what's needed to show you your ballot: your address. No
tracking, no profiling, no monetizing your civic activity.
▸ A searchable Help center in the app explains how every part of VoteMate works.
▸ Built with screen reader support throughout.

Works for voters in all 50 states and DC.
