WARN Layoff Alerts

Large employers must file a public notice, called a WARN notice, before a mass layoff or a plant closing, usually about two months ahead. Layoff Alerts reads these notices from every state that publishes them, every evening, and tells you the day one names a company you care about.

WATCH YOUR COMPANY
Type your employer's name once. Layoff Alerts checks every new notice for that name, including the other legal names big companies file under, and alerts you the day one appears. Most days nothing happens, and the app tells you that too.

SEE HOW LONG YOU HAVE
Each notice shows how many people it affects, where, and how many days are left until the layoff begins.

YOUR NEXT STEPS
Every notice comes with a plan for your state: your rights under the WARN Act, who to call at your state's layoff help team, health coverage options, questions to ask about severance, and where to apply for unemployment.

ASK ABOUT A NOTICE
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, ask a question in plain words, like "Was I given enough notice?", and get an answer drawn from the notice and your state's guide. It runs on your iPhone.

ALSO IN THE APP
• Widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen
• Ask Siri about layoffs at a company
• Search notices by employer, city or state
• Send a notice to a coworker as an image
• A weekly check-in, so you know the app is still watching

FREE FOR YOUR OWN JOB
Watching your employer and the place you live is free, with alerts and plans, and you don't need an account.

LAYOFF ALERTS PRO
For recruiters, reporters and anyone who follows more than their own job: watch as many employers and areas as you like, save searches with alerts, read what each employer's letter says, get a weekly summary for each area, see older notices, and export to a spreadsheet. If a company you watch files a notice, Pro is free for a while to help you through it.

PRIVATE
No account, no ads and no tracking. The companies you watch stay on your phone.

Layoff Alerts isn't affiliated with any government agency. WARN notices are public records from state workforce agencies. Dates and numbers can change, and the official notice, linked from every filing, is the record. Not every layoff requires a notice.
