Meet Pingu — a hydration tracker that works out YOUR daily water goal and counts your caffeine in the same app.
Stop guessing "8 glasses a day." PinguWater builds a target from your weight, activity level and climate, then adjusts it for pregnancy or breastfeeding if you need that. Change any of it and your goal updates instantly.
And because most people's day is half water and half coffee, every drink carries its real caffeine content in milligrams, counted against a daily limit you set.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
WATER AND CAFFEINE TOGETHER
Coffee, espresso, matcha, black tea, cola and energy drinks all count toward a caffeine total in mg. Set your own daily limit — 400 mg by default — and watch it in real time as you log.
A GOAL BUILT FOR YOUR BODY
Weight, activity and climate feed a target between 1.5 L and 4 L. Pregnancy and breastfeeding adjustments are in Settings. Prefer your own number? Override it any time.
39 DRINKS THAT COUNT DIFFERENTLY
Water, coffee, tea, milk, juice, soda, sports and cultural drinks — each with its own hydration coefficient, so 250 ml of coffee doesn't count the same as 250 ml of water.
ALCOHOL COUNTS AGAINST YOU
Beer, wine, spirits and cocktails carry negative coefficients and subtract from your day, with a warning card when they add up. Almost no other tracker does this honestly.
REMINDERS THAT KNOW WHEN TO STOP
Pick your hours and an interval of 30, 60 or 120 minutes. The wording shifts as you get closer to your goal — and the moment you hit it, the rest of the day's reminders switch off. No nagging, no guilt.
STREAKS AND CHALLENGES
Current and best streaks, with milestones at 3, 7, 14, 30, 60, 100 and 365 days. Eight challenges to pick from, including a 5-day caffeine break and a 7-day water-only run.
HOME SCREEN WIDGETS
Small, medium and large. Log a drink straight from the widget without opening the app. There's a Control Center button too, on iOS 18 and later.
APPLE HEALTH
Every drink you log is saved to Apple Health as water intake.
ICLOUD SYNC
Your goal, history, streaks and challenges follow you across your iPhones and iPads through your own iCloud account. No login, no server of ours involved.
CHARTS THAT MAKE SENSE
Day, week and month views with bar charts, a calendar and your running totals. Export everything to CSV whenever you want.
8 LANGUAGES
English, Deutsch, Espanol, Francais, Portugues (BR), 日本語, 한국어 and 简体中文 — switchable inside the app, independent of your phone's language.
WHAT'S FREE AND WHAT'S PRO
Free forever: logging water at any volume and any time, your personalized goal, reminders, streaks and milestones, the caffeine and balance cards, day/week/month charts, iCloud sync, Apple Health, CSV export, the widget, and all 8 languages.
PinguWater Pro unlocks: the other 38 drinks (which is what makes caffeine tracking meaningful), custom drinks of your own, editing drinks you've already logged, all 8 challenges, streak recovery, the detailed breakdown/timeline/trend cards in Stats, shareable stat cards, and the panda and cat companions.
PRIVACY, PLAINLY
No account. No sign-up. No email. Your drink history lives on your device and in your own iCloud — we never see it. There are no ads, no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs and no data brokers. The only third party in the app is RevenueCat, which handles subscription receipts and nothing else.
Requires iOS 17 or later.
PinguWater is a hydration tracking and reminder tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Your suggested daily goal is a general estimate based on body weight, activity and climate — please talk to a healthcare professional before making decisions about your health or fluid intake.
