Winnipeg Transit On-Request service is available throughout the week to connect select areas of the city to Winnipeg’s transit network. This service is operated on behalf of the City of Winnipeg in partnership with Via Transportation.

You can book a ride on an accessible On-Request bus by using this app on a smartphone, visiting the website: winnipegtransit.com/on-request, or by calling 311.

How do I get started?

Start by downloading the Winnipeg Transit On-Request app, then create an account using your name, phone number and email address. Confirm your location and input your destination to book a trip. When you book a trip, you’ll be given a pick-up time and walking directions to a set pick-up/drop-off location in your neighbourhood. You’ll be able to track your ride in real time. If you are calling in, provide the same information to the 311 representative who will give you step by step instructions.

Who is driving the buses?

Professionally-trained Winnipeg Transit bus operators will be driving the On-Request buses.

How long will I wait?

Wait times are expected to be between 5 and 20 minutes. Wait times may vary depending on the number of customers booking rides, the location of the On-Request buses, as well as traffic and weather conditions. You will be able to track the On-Request bus’ location in real-time using the Winnipeg Transit On-Request app.
