Wise Tales: Bedtime Stories

Wise Tales is a quiet little library of illustrated folk tales from around the world, told one sentence at a time. Tap a story, dim the lights, and let the words come to life.

Press play and Wise Tales reads the tale aloud. Every word lights up as it is spoken, so a child who is still learning to read can follow right along — and tapping any sentence sends the narration back to it. Choose a gentle pace (Cosy, Calm, or Lively), let the pages turn themselves, and lock the screen while the story keeps playing.

Then set the sleep timer. It never cuts a sentence in half: when the time is up, Wise Tales finishes the page and stops softly, so a tale can carry a child all the way into sleep.

50 TALES, HAND-ILLUSTRATED
Momotaro sails for the island of ogres. Anansi bargains with the sky god. The tortoise quietly beats the hare. 50 stories gathered from Japan, Greece, West Africa, India, Bengal, Korea, China, Arabia, Anatolia and Europe — each one painted page by page, and each one short enough for a single bedtime.

WHAT'S INSIDE
• Read-to-me narration that lights up each word as it is spoken
• Hand-painted artwork on every page
• A sleep timer that stops cleanly at the end of a page, never mid-sentence
• Hands-free pages that turn themselves while the story plays
• Lock-screen and Control Centre playback, with the page art
• Day, Night and Auto reading themes for a dark bedroom
• Your place in every story, remembered
• Works fully offline — every story and every voice lives on the device
• iPhone and iPad

ONE LANGUAGE — YOURS
Wise Tales speaks thirteen languages: English, Japanese, Spanish, French, Bengali, Arabic, Korean, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish and Chinese. Choose the one your family reads in and the whole app follows it — every story, every title, every narrated word. Arabic reads right to left, as it should.

FOR BEDTIME, AND THE QUIET HOURS
• Parents and children reading together at the end of the day
• Early readers following along word by word
• Long car rides, flights and waiting rooms with no signal
• Anyone who wants one short folk tale before sleep
