Description by yuki tanabe(from the App Store)
xTimer is a simple timer for anything you split into blocks of time: basketball drills, HIIT, Tabata, jump rope and running, but also Pomodoro study sessions, step-by-step routines and cooking. HIIT intervals, a BPM beat, chained timers and more: 6 modes in one app. No sign-up. Works offline.
■ 6 modes
[Interval] A HIIT / Tabata timer that repeats Work and Rest for a set number of rounds. - Set Work seconds, Rest seconds and rounds (e.g. 20s x 10s x 8) - For basketball suicides / sprint-and-rest conditioning - Also 50/10 study blocks or 4s/4s breathing exercises - 10-second READY before the first round - Countdown beeps in the last 3 seconds, sounds on phase change and finish - WORK / REST shown with screen colors
[Beat] A metronome-style timer that plays a beat at a steady BPM. - Set BPM, duration and sound - For jump rope tempo, running cadence (e.g. 180 spm) and dribbling / ball-handling tempo - Works as a metronome for instrument practice
[Beat Chain] Chain beats at different BPMs. - Build rhythm patterns beat by beat, or step up the tempo every few seconds - Repeat for a set time or until you stop - For jump rope speed work and cadence changes in interval runs
[Chain] Link timers of different lengths into one routine. - Warm-up → main set → cool-down in a single run - Shooting drills: 1 min shooting → 30s rebounds → 1 min shooting… - Pomodoro: 25 min focus → 5 min break, repeated - Step-by-step routines such as "hold 1 min → wait 5 min" - Stretching / yoga flows, cooking steps (boil 8 min → rest 2 min)
[Timer] A simple countdown in minutes and seconds, up to 99:55. - 24-second shot clock practice, 10-minute quarters - Cooking, power naps, timed presentation practice - A looping alarm rings when time's up. Stop it whenever you want
