Your BabyCamera — a baby monitor made from an ordinary iPhone.
Leave an old phone in the nursery and it becomes a baby monitor camera. The parent watches the baby from any device, right in the browser: no sign-up, no subscription, no cloud storage. Video travels directly between your devices over your home Wi-Fi.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open the app on the station phone and keep it on screen. Plug the phone in to charge.
2. The app shows a QR code.
3. The parent points their phone camera at the code — the video opens in any browser. The viewer needs no app: not on the parent's phone, not on any other device.
4. Up to two viewers can watch at the same time.
FEATURES
• Live video and sound: you hear your baby even when they are not crying.
• Night vision — switchable on the station or from the parent's phone while watching.
• Motion alerts: the station analyses the picture itself and tells you the image changed. No snapshots are taken, stored or sent anywhere.
• Three quality levels — 1080p, 720p and 480p. Switch instantly, without reconnecting viewers.
• The "Photo" button saves a frame to the parent's phone.
• Station battery indicator: a warning at 20% and "plug it in" at 10%.
• Live connection latency readout, so you always know how fresh the picture is.
• The parent can turn the station off right from their phone.
• The "New code" button instantly disconnects every viewer: the old QR code stops working.
• The station interface is available in English and Russian.
• Works on iPhone and iPad.
PRIVACY
• Video never leaves your home network and is never stored on servers: the stream goes directly over your home Wi-Fi.
• The connection is protected with TLS, and access is only possible with the code you show the parent.
• The motion detector takes no photos: it only sends a "motion" and "calmed" signal.
• The app does not collect or transmit your videos and photos.
FREE
The app is free: no subscription, no paid tiers, no in-app purchases. It does show ads, and they never interfere with the video.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
• The station works while the app is open on screen. This is an iOS limitation: the camera stops when the app goes to the background. The screen does not sleep, but the phone needs to stay plugged in.
• Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
• On the first connection the browser warns you about a self-signed certificate — this is by design. Choose "Advanced" → "Proceed to the site".
• If the phone overheats and iOS interrupts the camera, the app restarts it automatically.
