Not in the same room? Take the match online through Apple Game Center. Sign in to Game Center, tap "Friend Online," and invite a Game Center friend. Same tilt, same first-to-7 rally — now from anywhere. Needs an internet connection.

Solo and Friend Nearby need no internet: Friend Nearby stays device-to-device over Bluetooth. Friend Online is the one mode that goes online, using Apple's Game Center to connect you with a friend you invite.
