APN Backup & Restore

APN Backup & Restore

A simple App to backup and restore APNs (Settings to connect to the internet with the mobile connection). The backup is stored in the /sdcard/APNBackupRestore folder.

Android 4.4 / KitKat: The app has to be moved to the /system/priv-app folder for it to be able to acquire the correct permissions.

NOTE: Starting with Android 4.0/ICS, 3rd Party apps don't have access to write APN settings, hence this app no longer works for restoring APN backups as a normal app. You can convert it to a System app using Titanium Backup on a rooted phone and use.

Instructions:
- Open Titanium Backup
- Go to backup/restore tab
- Find APN Backup & Restore on the list
- Long press on the app when you find it
- Select Convert to system app
- Open APN Backup & Restore
- Click menu and disable ICS check
Thanks to Joaquín for the instructions.

Recent changes:
v1.91:
- Removed the Ads and the Permissions needed for them :)
As such the app always had Ads, just the previous network didn't work properly to show them.

v1.9:
- Using a new Ad Service (Mobclix).
- Added an option to disable the check for ICS devices. This allows the app to be used as a System app on rooted devices.
- Read Phone State/Identity permission required by Mobclix to access a unique identifier that some ad networks require to track impressions..

Erased all my APNs and installed incorrect ones. Now my phone can't get data / internet.

Not working on my rooted SGS3 Unfortunately this app no longer works on my Samsung Galaxy S3. I'm running CM11/M9 and when I try to convert the app in TB to a system app, TB hangs. It does uninstall the app but the re-installing as system app fails. Unfortunately I can't find a good alternative so for now I'm sticking with TB for backing up/restoring APN's.

It works If it doesn't it mean that you need the phone to be rooted and the app transferred to system for it to work.

Doesn't work in 4.4.2 Converted it to a system app, but it still can't restore settings in 4.4.2
