Cellica Database WiFi MS Access,SQLServer form

★★★★★ I have been looking for an App like this I have been looking for a long time to find an App that would synchronize seamlessly with Access databases. This suits the bill. Can even use password protected databases. What I like about it is that the Cellica desktop program does not need to be running in order to synchronize with your Access database. You can synchronize on demand from your phone. Nice. I have been using HandBase and this App is so much better & polished. The desktop program is a bit pricy but if it works well it is worth it. There are a few things I would like to see improved such as 1) smoother scrolling 2) option to display passwords as you type and 3) enter password only when opening database (for password protected databases. This App is close to a 5. I 'll use it some more and maybe update my review

★★★★★ Good product / good support thus far This product appears to be what I have been looking for. I started using this app about a month ago, and purchased / registered it about 2-1/2 weeks ago. If you're looking for a mobile app that allows record-level syncing connection to a variety of desktop or server based databases and lets you develop basic forms for data entry/edit/review this is for you. Very important, from a practical DB administration side, it supports relational databases. You do have to have some experience developing and using databases and forms design, although you don't have to be a DBA (i.e. There are no "wizards" to connect to a database or develop forms.) The client app is light-weight. It loads fast and runs fast. (If it had all the features it could have it would be heavy and slower, no doubt.) Important Note: I did run into one problem with a couple of form built-in formula functions. I logged a ticket with the developer. They responded, within a couple of days with not 1, but 2 patches that resolved the issue. Wow. I'm used to mobile app developers who typically offer vague platitudes, or silently refund your app fee, or don't respond at all. Very nice all around.

★★☆☆☆ Belongs In Beta Bought this software only to find out it is a mediocre application. They should put it back in Beta. The fields do not adjust when you use it in the landscape mode. The fields are too limited in size and will not allow the text to wrap. The real kicker was when it stopped syncing. I got shuffle back and forth between several tech support folks and then suddenly dropped. Don't waste your money here. My suggestion, go to HanDBase. At least it works and the fields are not as limited.

★★☆☆☆ Service Runs All The Time, Eats Battery 2/17/13: Is a great app but has a service that runs ALL the time, eats 2% of phone battery even when I am never using app!! What if every app did this?? No option not to run service if not using app! STUPID. Enterprise version might need always-on service for keeping all users in sync but single user version does not need to waste battery against user wishes. Will change review when Crllica makes smarter app.
