This app helps prevent against accidental volume changes by confirming the change you made, by either tray notification or a pop up. If you don't approve the change, the volume will be reset within a set amount of seconds.

Great for people who accidentally changes their volume, have small kids, don't want their phone to go off accidentally in meetings, or even have apps which modify the sound settings a lot. It works with most profiling apps: Locale & Tasker ("Locale Audio Update Notifier" plugin necessary), Timeriffic, Setting Profiles, Ring Toggle, AAM, Bedside, etc.

By setting the timeout to "instant", the locked volumes will revert instantly without prompting.

The camera permission is to prevent Volume Locker from popping up due to the shutter sound on some devices. This app doesn't take pictures, it just detects if the camera is in use.

Exclude from task killer!

Regarding the Samsung Galaxy S: If VL doesn't work or save your settings properly, it's due to the upgrade to 2.2.1 breaking the settings permissions. Reinstalling won't fix it, the only fix is resetting the device. This is a Samsung issue and not related to VL.

REGARDING THE LATEST VERSION
The service running tray icon is now enabled by default, per Android convention. Many phones will close the VL service when it's running purely in the background, which will disable VL temporarily. By making it a visible service, the likelihood that Android temporarily halts the service is extremely low.

To turn the tray icon off and risk the service being temporarily stopped, the option is under System Settings->Tray Icon.

Excellent! In conjunction with Simple Sound Profiles Widget this really makes my day. Don't have to get my pants scared off by some stupid notification anymore, but I can still increase my call volume quickly without worrying about my other sounds changing too. I'd love to see an option to restore the volume once the current app is closed. I will try and use Setting Profiles or Tasker to restore the Simple Sound Profile for now. Thanks! G2/HTC Desire Z - stock rom, temp rooted.

Perfect! Volume stays locked when screen is locked Although this app does so much more, I was just looking for a simple fix for my Android volume increasing /decreasing when I was listening to music with the phone in my pocket. I emailed the developer and got an answer within 15 minutes! "Disable VL" Settings -> Disable Volume Lock When Screen Is... -> Unlocked. 5 stars and THANK YOU!

Great set of options I need an app that prevents accidental changes of ringer volume that can so easily happen with the poor placement of the volume rocker right where my thumb goes. This app does that and still lets me shut off the ringer without unlocking the phone.

The only app that flat-out WORKS With the right plugin (which I hope he'll link to) this app works like a charm with Tasker
