Splashtop Whiteboard

★★★★★ Wonderful! I purchased remote desktop for my classroom a few weeks ago. It was o.k. to use for the classroom. Splashtop Whiteboard is fantastic to use in the classroom. A few other teachers at my school spend $500.00 each for a Mobi View. This app turns my tablet that I already have for my classroom into an interactive Whiteboard Slate. With a product like the Mobi view it is hard to see where you are writing. With this app, I can see where I'm writing right on the tablet. At $10.00 it is priced way below the slates that are sold for classroom use! I found setting it up to be very easy and I'm over 40 by a few years.... Great job on the app!

★★☆☆☆ Please fully support the S pen (Galaxy Notes tablets) As far as I can tell there is no way to support the full functionality of the S pen, that is, this app cannot REJECT THE PALM!, It would be great if you could just place your palm on the screen and the app ignore it as input. Please add this functionality! Thanks!

★★☆☆☆ Annotations need improvement Poor annotation on tablet, besides lack of tablet capabilities software needs to be more precise in annotations.

★★☆☆☆ Lag time and finiky It may be my hardware (Samsung Galaxy 2 7" tab, WiFi connected at 36 Mbps) but the lag time is so great that the product is not useful. The Whiteboard is also very finiky. On the 7" Galaxy, I must zoon to interact with the screen (this is not a complaint). However, while annotating, when I scroll around using the three finger gesture to a different part of the page to write something new, it often thinks I'm drawing again and leaves marks. To undo those marks I must scroll to the top and use the undo button, which leaves more annotation marks. If I turn off annotate temporarily to scroll around without leaving annotation marks, all markings on the page are hidden while I'm scrolling around. This would be far too distracting for my students. Also, scrolling with the three finger gesture often changes magnification instead. The advertising shows nicely formed letters and numbers misleading you to think you can write naturally. With my hardware, this is not true. Perhaps with the latest in hardware and the largest of tablets so you wouldn't have to magnifiy, this would be good software. If so, Splashtop needs to make a clear list of recommended hardware.
