Scout GPS Maps, Meetup & Chat

“I’m just five minutes away!” Heard that before? Whether it’s that friend who’s always late, who’s always lost, or who needs to lighten up with the “where are you??” texts, we all have that friend. Now there’s a cure for the common meetup quirk: Scout. It’s the only app that let’s you chat, make plans, and meet up in real life all in one super easy experience—including getting there with turn-by-turn GPS directions and everyone’s real-time ETA on the navigation map.

• New! Brand new look—Scout is now easier to navigate, starting with you on the map! In addition to traffic-based commute times, recent and favorite places, you can now also chat, meet up and more.

• New! Chat that leads to real plans – From spur-of-the-moment hangouts to a planned movie night, chat with friends about what to do and where to go, and then actually do it all in Scout.

• New! Meet up hassle-free – One app for everything. Choose who meet up with, pick a day and time, select a location, and you’re set. You can even chat before and after your get-together with all invitees in the same meetup stream.

• New! Drive together — Everyone meeting up gets voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions to the destination and sees each other’s ETA on the navigation map while driving there, so you’ll know if ‘”five minutes away” really means “I haven’t left yet!”

• New! Safe and secure, it’s about who you know – Always online or anti-social media, Android or iPhone, include anyone you want. People can only see the chats and meetups they’re invited to and can leave the conversation with just a swipe.

• Never get lost with the most up-to-date maps – OpenStreetMap (OSM) powers Scout’s maps with a community of more than 1.6 million editors making regular updates to the map. Your use of Scout will automatically help OSM map quality.

• Beat traffic everywhere you go – Get the fastest routes based on real-time traffic and be routed around accidents and jams. Help others on the road by reporting traffic incidents, congestion, police, and construction hazards.

• Handle pits stops faster than a NASCAR crew – When you need to stop on the way, Scout finds gas stations by price, restaurants, coffee shops, and even popular chains up ahead, only along your route.

• Save money and time on parking - Scout’s arrival guide shows you the nearest and cheapest parking closest to your destination

• Get help when you need it – customer support is available online at ourcommunity.scout.me

User reviews of Scout GPS Maps, Meetup & Chat
I used to support this app completely, but since they removed one of the most important functions in their last update and refuse to readd it, (the ability to rename addresses you add), I can't give it a thumbs up or a completely positive review anymore. I stay at Version 2.0.1.0124 because it's the last one that has that functionality. I mean seriously, are any of you going to be able to remember every address you add only by the address? It doesn't make sense to me to take out a vital feature like that. Other than that, and no longer being able to update it on account of their refusal to readd it, I still use it as my only form of navigation. It still is the best nav app I've used, across not only multiple android devices, but my old Sanyo M1 as well. If you guys fix your mistake in judgment on removing a staple feature, I'll definitely give it a thumbs up again.

Move on it's gone social media not navigation as designed. Each update makes the app worse. Just got off the phone with Scout. From what I am being told it is being moved to more of a social media app. Stupid considering it is an navigation app. WTF is wrong with these developers??? Time to find another app. They have ruined this app. Total flush!

Changes I loved Scout before the upgrade. I had a little red truck to navigate me through. Now I can't find out how to get directions unless I am leaving from "my current location". I would like to be able to put in one, then another address to go to. I can't uninstall the updates because I uninstalled and reinstalled thinking I coukd fix the problems I am now having. And why are there no settings buttons at the bottom of the screen?

Roll back that f-tarded update You just made a really good app useless. In the spirit of MS Office, you moved sh*t around for no apparent reason, and made all the functions completely counterintuitive. A large circle now covers up the intersections as you go thu them - nice. The cherry on this suck sundae is that the app mislabeled known exits and gotten me completely lost in metro DC. The nav makes no sense at all, and one trip I had used Scout for several times. Great job utterly neutering your own app!

Hate it now, its ruined What did you guys do to this??? I had so much fun with this, today I opened it up while trying to find some place and closed it out of frustration. Tried later to find gas prices oh forget it!! Uninstalling, I would have even paid for this app now its trash.
