Volkswagen brings you SmileDrive™ -- the first social app to maximize fun on every drive, by using your favorite Google products and services along the way.*
Whether you’re commuting to work or traveling cross-country, SmileDrive records your drives, awards you stickers for unique accomplishments (such as going on a holiday trip or driving on an unusually cold day), and turns road trips into shareable stories. The app can be used with any vehicle, even if it’s not a Volkswagen.
・Easily pairs with your car’s Bluetooth and runs in the background, so you don’t have to worry about activating the app every time you drive.
・You’ll get a Smile Score and drive summary at the end of each ride. The score is based on factors like location, distance, time and weather and you can get things like Stickers or Punches if you unlock achievements.
・For trips versus everyday drives, you can create a Smilecast. Name the trip, tag passengers and share with friends so they can see your route, photos and comments, along the way. When your trip is over, all the data is seamlessly collected into a video you can share.
・There’s also a handy Find My Car feature. Get directions to your vehicle’s last parked location.

Pointless but fun! I'm still waiting for my first punch, but otherwise it's interesting to have a little chronicle of life's mediocrity. It would be nice, now that you can link it to multiple cars, if it simply recognized which car you're in and start up. Instead, on the rare occasion that I drive my wife's car, if I want my drive recorded, I have to enter the app and switch cars, then do the same again when I return to my car. Minor nuisance to an otherwise fun app!

Great app Works great on my MK6 GLI. It was cool on my first drive with it encounter another VW and got a no punch back sticker.

Not ready for prime time. Had difficulty connecting to Bluetooth. It took several tries before I got it to connect. It doesn't recognize that I've renamed my Bluetooth connections so it was difficult to figure out which Bluetooth was my car since I also have a connection for my wife's car and they have similar internal names. The first trip failed to record and it reported that it didn't have a good enough GPS signal. The second trip, which was the opposite direction of the first trip, seemed to work OK. After the third trip, it didn't recognize that I disconnected from my car so it kept saying I was in a drive when I was actually at my desk at work. It wouldn't let me manually end the drive. I had to do a force close on it to get it to shut down. This program seems to say "OOPS! I can't see you" a lot. Too flaky for me. Verizon GS3 - 4.1.2 / Nissan Juke

App now eats battery App used to only activate GPS when connected to the Bluetooth radio associated with my car. In the last week my GPS location has been fetched by the app every 30 seconds resulting in SmileDrive using 60% of my battery. On the plus side it records drives pretty well since it only reports the times it's actually connected to Bluetooth to my G+ account.

Needs work The concept is good but the application missed starts and stops. GPS was on and location visible on Google Maps, but didn't register in the application. Some drives showed up as "incognito" and failed to register the stop/end point. Uninstalling until the reliability can be improved.

Ummm...Sentras? I have a nissan sentra but apparently the nissan list omitted the sentra. I had to pick altima because I believe its the closest to the sentra that you can get. Hopefuly it still works about the same, if not, I have to uninstall. Every nissan model except the sentra :(
