Doesn't update columns Evwr aince the recent update this app is close to useless. The columns don't update at all and are weeks old. The sections update very slowly. Whoever they hired to code they went cheap and it shows. The blackberry app---in a town where blackberry still rules (DC)---also has problems. Geez.

Going downhill Used to be one of my go to news apps, but updates have ruined it. It's a data hog and current version (2.6.0) crashes all the time on my Nexus 5 (Android 4.4.4). It's so bad I don't know if the new interface is good or not since I stop reading after the first few crashes/articles.

Sends Notifications This app sends notifications even though they are turned off in the settings. That's my only complaint but it's a big one.

Mostly good, but... I really like this app but I have noticed recently that it will get stuck in a section and I won't be able to use the menu to go back to top stories (or any other section). I generally end up going to the mobile site when that happens. I shouldn't have to do that if it's working correctly, otherwise what is the point of having the app?

Badly designed app The WaPo widget stopped working. 7/18/14 update: here are observations during the last month while on Android 4.4.4. My settings are 1) allow background data, 2) get updates over cellular, and 3) no push notifications 1) the app ran up 0.8 GB in 20 days. This app uses the most data out of all my apps on the HTC M8 GPE. 2) the push notifications keep appearing. It doesn't matter if you deactivate it. 3) the app takes forever to refresh even with the constant updates. Mind you, I am using a HTC M8 with the Snapdragon 801. The app shouldn't behave this way.
