Digital Dash

Digital Dash

This is meant to be a simple replacement for the stock Car Home app. I've been trying to add features while keeping the interface clean. If you have any feature requests, please send me an e-mail.

Features:
-Speedometer (MPH\KPH)
-Compass
-Weather (F\C)
-Current Address - to launch with Google Maps
-Customizable Shortcut Launcher
-Find My Car feature saves exact location for later use
-Brightness Controls
-Registers as "Default" app for Official Car Docks
-Fullscreen Option to hide the status bar
-Handsfree Option to force speakerphone for calls
-*NEW*: 270° Orientation (Reverse Landscape)
-*NEW*: App closes when removed from Car Dock

Tips:
-Choose US Customary or Metric in settings menu
-Remember GPS requires a view of the sky
-Press + signs to add shortcuts
-Long press shortcuts to reset them
-Press 'x' button to exit 'car mode' while docked
-Saving for 'Find My Car' feature works better when GPS is warmed up

I recommend using this app with an official car dock if possible. The official docks register with the phone and auto prompt the app. Also, GPS drains battery quickly if unplugged.

Recent changes:
Version 1.4:
-Compatibility for ICS / Android 4.0
-Notification when clicking to set Shortcuts
-Tailored language for International Users
-App now closes when removed from Car Dock
-270° Orientation (Reverse Landscape) for devices running Gingerbread or higher

User reviews of Digital Dash
once I figured out the trick to adding apps to launcher (just tap once, may take a short time before apps come up), it is very nice. Very clean and not distracting, great app to use while driving.

Tempurature not reading. I've set the weather location multiple times but still no temperature reading. It's stuck at 0 degress all the time. Even when I'm driving!

Nice interface, but limited functionality Speedo only updates every 10 seconds or so making that portion useless, cannot remove direction indicator, cannot use in portrait mode. I could not add any shortcuts as per the instructions as the button seemed to be missing! Running on HTC Desire S & Cyanogenmod 7.2
