Description
RCB is a powerful call, SMS and MMS blocker.
As of Android 8, root blocking is not possible and RCB will default to no root mode, which does not block SMS at all. There are specialized apps that will do that better than RCB set as the default messaging app.
I do not provide direct technical support for this app. You can send logs through the settings and I will examine them in due course but do not expect replies - I work on this app in whatever spare time I find.

Please do not try to get my attention with ugly ratings, I will ignore them and will only answer logs if I need technical feedback.
Root users must make sure they have the latest binary, either Magisk or SuperSU.
If you experience problems first follow the instructions below. If that doesn't help, set SELinux to permissive mode and follow them again - it may.
Issues? Do this EXACTLY:
1. Back up using RCB internal backup 2. Uninstall 3. Reboot 4. Install directly from Google Play 5. Start app, test function 6. Restore internal backup
To use this app in root mode together with auto-update in Google Play, you must disable re-authentication in your superuser manager, or you will keep losing root access and breaking daemon function.
This app will not be able to block calls or SMS over IP. That means you must disable VoLTE, VoIP or "enhanced messaging" if calls or texts are not being blocked.
Do not use third party backup applications - only internal backup. If you don't care for my advice and it doesn't work after restoring through your regular backup mechanism, follow the instructions below.
In root mode, to remove the RIL daemon you need to uninstall the app and reboot your device.

Used to be working just fine 5 stars for great variable of blocking. However the last 2 update broken the app. Recent update not blocking anymore, last from recent force close when try to add variable. Rolling back to 2 previous version make it work again.

Thank you for making this great app! But I found the stock SMS filter (by both numbers and keywords) becomes noneffective once RCB service starts. Is there a way to fix this? Another shortcoming is RCB doesn't have keyword blocking for SMS. If any of these two issues is solved, I'd be very delightful to pay for the pro version. Thank you so much!

App just don't work for me or my phone. I have tried to set this app up in many ways and to no end will it block calls. I have sent emails to the dev as well as a screen cast of how I have it set up but still not getting anywhere. I'm not saying that the app isn't any good I'm just saying it's not working for me and I'm not getting really any help from the developer. I suggest that short YouTube videos be done to show simple blocking setups like block all except for concerts. Then if not still working troubleshooting efforts can be done.

Bought this app long ago and used to work fine. Crashes my Marshmallow phone time after time nowadays. Took me a lot of time and annoyance to sort out this was causing it. Support is nonresponsive and rude. A typical example is the response to this rating. Jumped to Root Call SMS Manager. No problems and very responsive support.

This used to work great and I liked it, even bought the Pro edition. But it doesn't work anymore. Perhaps new Android version, I don't know. I emailed the dev but didn't hear back. So I bought another similar app whose dev is responsive and actually does dev work. I'm happy with Root Call SMS Manager.
