Field Compass Plus is a powerful and simple compass app, with all the data you need on one clear screen. This easy to use Android compass has a unique sighting screen to take and store bearings to help keep you on track.
The app shows your heading on an analogue compass, together with a digital centre panel displaying your heading in degrees.
Your compass heading and bearings are referenced to True or Magnetic North. You can also adjust the Declination for your current location.
Record up to three compass bearings using the three middle buttons on the top tool bar. The bearings can be displayed around the compass and can be used to get a three point compass fix.
Can be used in a marine environment for sailing, boating (now includes pitch and roll fields)
A great compass to use when hiking, hill climbing, walking or for general outdoor navigation and map reading training.
Anyone interested in Orienteering should download this compass app as a backup compass.

Simply prefect A beautifully simple and effective compass. Love the way it auto-adjusts the magnetic declination.

Simple enough, but with a few nice additions Bought this app because it does not request any special permissions like other free compass (e.g. some need phone access! - do not install them!). It can use the declination from the GPS or you can set it manually, and you can set a few targets to point to. Still a few improvements I would like: - The labels E/S/W/N etc. are a little hard to find/read since they are in small letters and in the same color as the whole bearing. A different color (white labels in the holo dark blue theme would do it). - The GPS accuracy is shown in feet. Would be nice to see this value in meters. Nothing else I would change.

No good!! Do not purchase this compass app!! It is highly inaccurate. I stood in the middle of a field and turned 90 deg. It told me East both directions and the deg only changed about 10 deg. Not accurate. Looks nice, but totally inaccurate.

Set down on flat surface it acted like I was moving I set on a flat surface and display gave wrong direction and keep spinning like I was moving the device around

Simply could not get an accurate reading on my HTC 10. Magnetic North as much as 170 degrees out at worst. Very disappointing.
