GPSies

The GPSies Android app offers a comfortable and convenient access to all of these routes.

Of course, you can record your own routes. During the recording, the distance and the speed will be shown. Recorded routes can easily uploaded to GPSies.com. You choose whether other users can see the route.

As a registered user, you have access to your notepad of GPSies.com. So you have all the information on your Smartphone - in text form and as a map display. In addition, you can use the 'Live-Tracking' feature. Let others participate on your activities in real time.

The app offers you a variety of maps. From Google to the popular OpenStreetMap maps.

The app was developed for Android smartphones starting version 4.0. It is designed with standard Android navigation patterns to allow a quick start. The discreet design supports the user in his actions.

From a technical perspective, great value was placed on simplicity, loosely coupled modules and standards-compliant implementation. Thus arose a serviceable piece of software, from the other releases may occur in the near future.

This is 10 times better than My Tracks but in the US where we are behind the times we still use miles not kilometers so having the option of displaying miles would make it much more popular in the US Another suggestion is a default startup mode: When opening the app it goes straight to "Track a Route" for example Thanks for a great app Tom in New Hampshire USA

Almost perfect!! It will be perfect when it has: -offline maps (check out GPS-Track app for ideias; their offline maps work just fine) -see all my tracks, not just the notepad ones, on the app -start the tracking mode, when looking ate a route to follow! now you can be tracking, and go back and look a route, but you lose the tracking data (speed etc). All it's need is to have the selected route displayed on the background :) Keep Up the good work.

Almost there. Just installed and wanted to try out the app for the first time. I was all ready to be impressed.... And for the first almost 4 km I was. Then near the end of my track the app decided to crash. Couldn't save the track of course. My rating will go up if it doesn't crash next time. The website is still great. Thanks
