I use your app on an HTC Desire with Android 2.1. I like it very much - in particular the possibility to choose from many different maps and to download them for offline use, as well as the ease of use with double-tap and pinch to zoom. There are two annoying bugs, though: * pretty soon after installing, the map display starts jumping around on scrolling and zooming. The only way I found to restore sane behavior was to uninstall and re-install the app. Thanks goodness cached maps are not lost when doing so. * When switching the app to the background during caching data (which may take very long), the download process stops, and sometimes the app even crashes when switching back to it.

This app opens. Other than that it's useless. It shows many places on the globe EXCEPT where I am at any time. It doesn't show my country. I hate that I wasted 5 minutes of my life installing and evaluating this. Does Google have any sort of quality standards? I think I will learn how to make apps that don't work so I can waste other people's time just for revege.

So so THE GOOD: good, clear Google maps with excellent caching capabilities. The stock Google Maps app refuses to cache maps in my area, says it's not available, but this app does it very well. Now whenever I open the map, all my areas of interest are ready for display. I can cache on Wifi then save bandwidth on my puny 3G plan. THE BAD: that's all it does. It cannot search places or find routes. I really need public transportation routes, which only Google Maps does. The paid, "pro" version finds places, but not routes.
