So far it works! Unlike like the official last.fm app which keeps the music app process running constantly even after the playback has stopped. HTC Tattoo.

Not working with default player on Samsung Captivate, nor did it work with MixZing. Works great with Meridian. Would like to see a "Now Listening" scrobble option also.
