Just what i was looking for It's 1am here at Two Harbors, Isthmus Reef Cove, Catalina Island, California. Started sailing here at noon today unsure of conditions and using my handheld GPS with nautical maps I paid over $300 for, thinking there has got to be something better these days, as my GPS keeps losing connect with the tiller pilot. So I looked it up on my tablet tonight as we bed down exhausted from the 4 hour trip from Long Beach, CA, in sickening chop which I didn't expect from weather forecasts. I just downloaded this app on my XOOM tablet as the boat rocks me half to sleep, but I see enough to know this all inclusive app is well designed and that I will use this to navigate home on Sunday. So far, hands down the king of free navigation/marine weather/charting apps for android. Thank you. To those who's device keeps shutting down the app; try killing all the other apps running in the background as any app with intense graphic rendering and large file handling will surely crash an operation like this one. Not a design flaw but possible device running on low memory or process power.

Useless for me First, the free version is online only. So my Nexus 7, it's not very usefull. And then, for both versions free and paid, this is just a map with your position. This will not give you speed, bearing.... There is at least a free app that does better. (offline maps and navigation)

Florida took 6 tries + Active Cap won't work offline Why not charge more, and imclude the. Charts and have a working version? Active Captain interface is THE reason for this tool and it won't work offline. Works Okay online. Guidebook did not load so Active Captain won't work offline. Worthless umderway as a planning tool. They could do better. Paid for Active Captain markers offline - couldn't load them and crashed chart reader trying. Maybe V2 will work. $35 for nothing.
