Description by Signal Foundation (from Google Play)

Signal is a messaging app with privacy at its core. It is free and easy to use, with strong end-to-end encryption that keeps your communication completely private.

• Send texts, voice messages, photos, videos, GIFs, and files for free. Signal uses your phone’s data connection, so you avoid SMS and MMS fees.

• Call your friends with crystal-clear encrypted voice and video calls. Group calls supported for up to 50 people.

• Stay connected with group chats up to 1,000 people. Control who can post and manage group members with admin permission settings.

• Share image, text, and video Stories that disappear after 24 hours. Privacy settings keep you in charge of exactly who can see each Story.

• Signal is built for your privacy. We know nothing about you or who you’re talking to. Our open source Signal Protocol means that we can’t read your messages or listen to your calls. Neither can anyone else. No back doors, no data collection, no compromises.

• Signal is independent and not for profit; a different kind of tech from a different kind of organization. As a 501c3 nonprofit we are supported by your donations, not by advertisers or investors.

Comments on Signal Private Messenger for Android

★★★★☆ SKINWALKER · Oct 6, 2026

Great for privacy and encryption but sometimes the calls don't show. It just shows after the call has ended as a missed call.

★★★★★ ANDREW MCNIECE · Sep 13, 2026

Easy to install, Easy to use and secure. Free helps too! It's my go to for sensitive communications!

★★★★★ Bab FM · Sep 13, 2026

Its good 👍, but I didn't find dual messenger option. Kindly develop dual messenger. Thanks to Signal Team.

★★★★★ K Conklin · Sep 18, 2026

Great platform for secure communication. Have used it for years for various groups/organization, and personally to keep in touch with loved ones overseas.

★★★★★ NIDAS · Oct 6, 2026

Private WhatsApp WITHOUT the annoying Meta stuff such as subscriptions etc.

★★☆☆☆ Ridtz Rashid (Estoile) · Oct 6, 2026

Errors why isn't the ’call me instead’ highlighted when no codes were sent to my number to activate my account and verify my number? But instead only 'resend the code' highlighted despite no codes being received from your end. Pls rectify ASAP. Tx

★★☆☆☆ Kevin Bathgate · Sep 18, 2026

Bad.all the women want is You’re money in gift card form .and then keep asking for more.had a lot of problems with women just wanting money.and u never see them.it a prostituting site.but the man gets nothing. there's no good women.

★★☆☆☆ Marcheez · Sep 24, 2026

I've heard good things about the app, and I wanted to give it a try. But the fact that I have to wait out several hours to try to get in using my phone number, even though I've done the captcha correctly and inputted the right phone number, is annoying to experience. I hope at least the wait out time can be reduced, or if many "failed attempts" are reached, the "call me instead" feature becomes available. Because I heard good things, and I have high hopes, 2 stars. 5 if I have easier access.

★★☆☆☆ Jason Micklon · Sep 13, 2026

Doesn't give me notifications when the messages come in very good

★☆☆☆☆ Amorphous One · Sep 24, 2026

My partner and I both use Signal on a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and as of the latest version, Signal no longer registers inputs from the S-Pen, which is extremely inconvenient, especially since I often type on and navigate my phone using the S-Pen.
