Doesn't seem to improve Vodafone awful signal strength, and I live on fringe of city. Vodafone blames house position. I live in an avenue of 200 houses with flat land all the way to Chepstow 27 miles away at the front of the house.

Pretty sure people already know they're on the Internet the second Google shows up. Probably don't need an app to show what intent and how fast or slow like a speedometer for data... most people don't want to be on the newer networks, so the image you're using is deceptive.
