Agony Aunts

Life can get complicated. Sometimes you know exactly what’s bothering you, and sometimes you just know that something doesn’t feel right.

Perhaps you’re stuck in a relationship dilemma and don’t know what to do next. Maybe you’re dealing with family problems, difficulties at work, career worries or someone whose behaviour is bringing you down. You might be struggling with confidence, feeling upset or anxious, or simply have thoughts going around in your head that you need to get off your chest.

Whatever is happening, sometimes it helps to talk to someone outside the situation.

Need to talk? Need someone to listen?

Instant Agony Aunts gives you a place to talk privately with caring, supportive advisors about the things affecting your life. You can explain what’s happening in your own words, ask the questions that matter to you and get a personal response from someone who is there to listen.

There’s no need to have everything figured out before you start. You might have a specific question, want another point of view or simply need to tell someone what has been happening.

Our advisors cover a wide range of everyday life issues, including relationships and dating, family and friendships, work and career, confidence, difficult decisions and personal situations.

A personal, human approach

We believe that being heard can make a real difference. Our approach is caring, empathetic and non-judgemental. You can talk openly about what is happening without worrying about being embarrassed or judged.

Rather than telling you how you should live your life, our advisors can help you look at your situation from another perspective, think through your options and consider what feels right for you.

Every situation is different, which is why the conversation is about you — what you’re experiencing, what matters to you and what you want to talk about.

Talk in confidence

Some things are difficult to discuss with friends, relatives or people you know. Instant Agony Aunts gives you another place to turn when you want to talk about something privately.

Whether it’s a relationship that has become confusing, an argument you can’t stop thinking about, problems at home, uncertainty about your career, a difficult decision or something completely different, you can reach out and start a conversation.

You don’t need to wait until a problem becomes overwhelming. Sometimes you simply want another person’s perspective.

Choose an advisor and start a conversation

Browse our advisors and choose someone you feel comfortable talking to. Each advisor sets their own message rate, so you can see the cost before deciding who you want to contact.

Messages are paid for using credits. You can purchase credits securely in the app and use your credit balance to send messages to the advisors you choose.

There are no awkward appointments and no need to explain yourself face-to-face. Write when you’re ready and say as much or as little as you feel comfortable sharing.

Whether you have one question or want to continue a conversation, you decide who you speak to and when.

Because sometimes what you need most is simply someone willing to listen.

Whatever your problem, our promise is to listen.
