Comments on Alibi Witness 3.0 for Android
I like this app more than v2.0, but it has some things to work out. I emailed support, but still waiting on a reply. When I click on live stream, it takes a while to load or sometimes doesn't load at all. I still have the original app, and it pulls up the streams right away. So I don't believe it to be an issue with the DVR. In fact the issue also happened in 2.0 too. It's inconvenient and doesn't look good when I want to show how great this surveillance system is to others. Hoping for a fix.
Works for me! Easy to set up and manage. Remote view works well, takes about 5 sec to connect. 10 sec lag between video and real time, though my internet speed is super slow. Overall, I'm very pleased.
For the most part it works great!! The only complaint I have is when the cameras lose internet which happens alot lately.
Works really well as an App for reviewing Security Cams remotely and for playing back security footage when needed too
Seems to work as it should but have not figured out how to do any sort of playback yet. I just figured how to playback. So far so good.
I have had Alibi cameras for years, and I never had a problem with the Alibi 2.0 app... I am very unhappy with the Alibi 3.0 app, it's constantly going offline. What's the point of having cameras if you can't view them? Very frustrating to be honest! I need to find a better and more reliable company with a system that works.
I am a professional AV/Security/Surveillance installer. This app and similar apps, is why Ring and Nest will ultimately win. Ring and Nest are interactive, useful, and reliable, creating a higher perceived value than these other horrible attempts at a camera app. Alibi Witness 2.0 and 3.0: more clunky, hard to use, non-intuitive interfaces that make a mid-to-high end camera/NVR system virtually useless to most consumers. I'm not sure why Alibi, or any of these NVR companies can write the proper app to provide common sense features that work. The integration with "Guarding Vision" is so murky, I can't tell what the heck I'm logged in to. If I have more than one NVR....uggg. There's so much wrong here: -Camera names don't come across to the app. -Way, way too hard to set up reliable events that send a useful notification. -If I do get a notification, most likely the Playback will fail with some cryptic "Error Code" that means nothing to me. -The Notifications' setup is arcane. -Best playback method is via Internet Explorer. Yes, just like it's 1995. -But even IE has issues: no timeline on full screen playback. Really. Many other issues, but obviously some blame to Division, which all this seems to be based from. Ring and Nest have given at least 10 minutes of thought in to what the average person might find most useful in having cameras around the house. Then they executed the app. No more of these mid-high end camera/NVR systems for me. They just can't figure it out, which equals unhappy end users.
