Comments on Alpenglow: Sunset Predictions for Android
★★★★☆Stephen Dunn· Sep 24, 2023
I like the app, it's pretty accurate, only thing I dislike is you have to stay up until after midnight to get the sun rise forecast for the next day, so unless you're good at not sleeping to chase the sun rise then this is only good for sunsets, of course unless you want to spend money to unlock the next day forecast.
★★★★★Trevor Allis· May 16, 2022
No unnecessary information; just plain, simple and to the point. A must for photographers and birders.
★★★★☆Randy Strauss· Dec 3, 2022
Predictions for sunrise and sunset quality in notifications are different from in app. For instance, I received a notification that sunset today would be good, but in the app it says poor. In app is accurate.
★★★★★Steve Dewsnap· Jun 21, 2024
Great app, I use it for my drone to capture Sunsets.
★☆☆☆☆Ryan Hill· Aug 20, 2022
Total waste of time. Every the sunrise or sunset has been good, the app say's it's poor.
★☆☆☆☆Baz K· Aug 12, 2026
Not at all accurate. Insisted the sun was at the incorrect location.
★☆☆☆☆Breanna LeGree· Aug 4, 2023
Money hungry "tips" ruined it. I used to use this app for sunset / sunrise prediction. I log into it today, and it wants me to "tip" them in order for the app to work. It won't show you tomorrow's sunrise prediction unless you "tip" them which shouldn't even be called a tip because it's not optional. Way to turn something beautiful into something ugly.
★★☆☆☆Greg Hickman· Jan 30, 2023
Accuracy is pretty bad where I am. There have been a lot of spectacular sunsets/sunrises where the app said the chance was Poor. Also, I sometimes get notifications of a good sunrise/sunset with an over 70 percent chance, but the app itself will say there's a 20 percent chance. Shouldn't the notification and the app agree with each other?
★☆☆☆☆William D· May 5, 2023
Without any warning, this apps primary purpose of providing sunrise and sunset forecasts is now locked behind a paywall. In order to view the forecasts you must now "donate". Very poor form from the developer. There was no mention of this from the developer, nor has the app store description been amended to reflect this.
