Any Soft Keyboard is an open-source, on-screen keyboard with multiple languages support with emphasis on privacy. This is one of the most customizable keyboards available.
To activate: Launch 'AnySoftKeyboard Settings' App, and follow the instructions.

Great keyboard, lightweight and fast. However, I noticed a drawback. Upon selecting text then pressing the shift key to capitalize them then moving the cursor and typing again, the text that I capitalized is disappearing.

AnySoftKeyboard is very easy to use with a great keyboard design layout similar to Gboard, Swift Key and other similar Android keyboard apps. But the only thing that's really missing is full Android dark mode support and border less keyboard themes.

This keyboard is both amazing and superior to it competition from Google (gboard)and Microsoft (Swift key)... as a long time user of both I grew tired of the data mining both do when you use their apps. And being forced by both to adopt AI was the last straw. Also making the switch I noticed a very dramatic decrease in my data usage which illustrated just how much information was being sent. Says it does work with the latest version of android, but it does 100%. . It's what I typed this review with

It's very sad, because I was loving this app. But when the phone (android 9) goes into battery saving mode (auto set to 75% for me), words suggestions and swipe functionalities gets disabled. Which makes the keyboard kinda useless. As I totally rely on swipe or suggestions.

I wanted something to replace Hacker's Keyboard, which has a proper terminal keyboard. ASK doesn't: the closest layout (Terminal) lacks a top row of numbers. I wanted to replace Hacker's Keyboard because of its lack of predictive text (the relevant language apps are no longer available on Play Store) so I was also disappointed to find that ASK's predictive text didn't work with the Terminal layout, though it had worked in one of the simpler layouts.

It's completely lost my support now. I've loved to use this keyboard due to the features it was offering, e.g. full Hungarian letters without pop up selection, secondary characters, like numbers with pop up selection without the need to switch anything. Now this is no different from standard samsung keyboard, piece of .... You've just lost a loyal user with your stupid changes.

Not good enough. No way to have a number row, a QWERTY set of letter keys and cursor controll at the same time. You can replace the number row with the cursor row, but then you loose cursor controll. I need the numbers on top with the cursor keys on the bottom (below the space bar) all at the same time, no stupid switching between screens just to move the god dam cursor! Get it done, or your app is useless.
