Usually don't give five-star ratings after just downloading. But it took me less than 5 minutes to test. I had hackers keyboard for years & loved it. But unexpected keyboard is Hackers keyboard on steroids! The swipe feature that everyone is commenting on is not swiping between keys but actually swiping within each key for quick access to symbols or capitals. And, this unexpected keyboard has emoticons! Don't know why it won't capitalize first word in here, but does elsewhere

Fully configurable, customizable ⌨️ allowing up to 9 chars per key (swipe N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW + C (center, i.e. no swipe) for main/default key). Realistically, 5 is max. It has full range of super/subscript, box drawing, math, ctrl+, alt+ &c & It's tiny, < 1.2 MB & no ads! But no glide typing, predictive text &c. GBoard, which I use for that uses > 890 MB, >700 MB data. It was designed from programmers, so access to special keys is its focus. Excellent for that.

Recently on my OnePlus Pad when I'm using a Bluetooth keyboard this virtual keyboard pops up anyway, and won't stay down. It also seems like I install the dictionary, but it asked me again to install the dictionary. Is this how it updates the dictionary? If that's so maybe it should just update more discreetly without my involvement. Side note: It would be great if when we add keys (like Esc, Tab, ª, and º) to the layout if we could choose what key they go on.

Plus: "Unexpected Keyboard" has all the buttons required for POSIX apps (such as function or arrow buttons). Minus: Since the last "update", does not follow the option to hide when physical keyboard is used (the software keyboard shows whenever you select some text box, which should not happen when physical keyboards are used).

Dictionary / autocorrect / word suggestions feature is poorly implemented. It only suggests the first word, then does nothing unless backspace pressed.
