If ypu want video conversion --> ASCII, use VLC Media player. VLC is free, it is hard to find, go y o settings, advanced options, and look in filters. I just installed this one. "Does not take photos" is buried in the about section of this app. This is the trail, so buy the full version of you want the photos. You can only bring the settings menu up once. To bring it up again you have to close and reopen the app. This might be a bug on pixel 6 that will be fixed some day.

Cool idea, but doesn't work: Galaxy Nexus, v4.2.2 Subject says most of it. I just get a black screen. I can hit the menu button and change settings, but that doesn't fix the black screen. Too bad, liked the idea. Perhaps you just need to update the code for newer versions of Android?
