Comments on Astiga - Cloud music player for Android
★★★★★Paul Smithson· Apr 13, 2022
Been using this for a few years and absolutely love it. I use it more than any other music app including Spotify, etc. I can't understand why anyone would give it less than five stars unless they just don't understand its purpose. It is not an alternative to Spotify. It is for playing your own music collection via cloud storage such as Dropbox or cloud. If you understand that and have a sizeable music collection then Astiga is mouthwatering good.

This is the only app on Android that allows you to stream music from personal cloud storage like Dropbox, Onedrive, Google Drive etc. It does basically everything other music apps do except for purchasing songs, obviously. There are a couple of small things: First, if you name two songs with the same title (not the Windows file name, but the song file name) it will always select the newer one. Second, search seems to not be the greatest. Third, the podcast tab seems to be useless?

Needs an account to use the app to connect to my own music files. Offers a 7-day trial with no clear information about how much it will be after.

The worst UI I've ever seen for an app. No option to view all songs? Really, you ask people to pay $24 for this?

The app doesn't work properly and is incredibly frustrating to use. All I wanted was simple playlist functionality for my own MP3s and with an option to have this synced/managed across devices. When I try to create a playlist with astiga, all it does is populate the playlist with the same song over and over again, regardless of what I add 🤷♀️

Like other reviews already mention, this is yet another cloud service to access your cloud service. You need to create an account and trust your credentials with them. No way Jose.

Pointless app. It will not allow you to sync music without subscription. Used to be free to sync once a month, or what not, but now requires monthly fee to sync even once. Archaic interface with pointless options. Does not support playing local music, so no way to add a song from device. This makes it a garbage app.
