Ever since support for the Kickstarter "classic" adapter was dropped, it has made its way to my glovebox, since it is pretty useless now. If the devs would open up the API for the classic model, maybe someone will take the initiative to make an app so we can still use our adapters. Maybe they could show is all the things we thought we'd get when purchasing, that never materialized. $99 for a $15 piece of kit, and not supported for long. That's sad.

The app has been really good so far and I have had it for about six months. I wish it was better at diagnostic codes. It will pick up the bigger ones but I do most of my own mechanic work and have to go find my manual code reader to pick up hidden codes. Overall very handy.

Doesn't calculate stops and acceleration correctly. Several times I come to a slow rolling stop and it will ding me. My wife has an SUV, she gets dinged all the time when she accelerates from a stop. Ive tried it myself and if you pull out like it calculates you will cause accidents. Furthermore I run more yellow lights now instead of stopping because this app will ding me for stopping too short. I had two emergency stops and it didn't ding me at all. "Needs to be adjusted". When I get done with my 90 day trial with my insurance company I will throw this device out my window.

I got an Automatic adapter as a gift a couple of years ago. It's ok for getting a check engine code or getting a glimpse of driving habits/history, but only surface level diagnostics. I hoped for more in depth insights. The worst part by far though was the Bluetooth management. When you install, you give the app permission to manage Bluetooth settings. This apparently means turning it on whenever the hell it feels like it. I physically toggle Bluetooth off, and it turns it back on. If you want to turn your Bluetooth off so that a private conversation doesn't get broadcast through the speakers of your connected car, TOO BAD. I've had to end conversations and call back because I couldn't toggle off Bluetooth. With very little gained, I ended up uninstalling. I gave it 2 stars because it works ok for what it's supposed to do, but the headaches aren't worth it. I UNINSTALLED. I'll hold onto the adapter just in case I need it to use as an obdc scanner though.
