Honestly, I was using Duolingo first. Duolingo was really good for learning basic Swedish but I felt I was learning nothing useful. "De fågel äten de spindel" isn't exactly a useful phrase to learn. But with Babbel, I'm learning how to have actual conversations between real people and feel myself retaining the information a LOT better. My friend gifted me 3 months and I intend on purchasing it for the 2020 year.

The app is really great, definitely one of the best language apps out there! Unfortunately the mobile app does not seem to be in sync with the web app. That's the only deficit.

I had a problem with the app: all my progress was deleted all of a sudden and I was a bit upset. I wrote to Babbel a couple of days ago. I didn't hear anything back from them, which I think is really poor, and my problem is still there. Their lack of an asnwer (even if it was just an apology and they said they had no idea what could've gone wrong...) makes me think this is no a company I'm interested in giving my money too. They're more thoughtful in Duolingo for sure. I'm very disappointed.
